What to Watch out for – Tips for Not Breaking Semi-Truck Windshields

broken windshield spiderweb effect

We’ve learned a thing or two over the years replacing semi-truck windshields. Here are a few tips that may prevent you from having to replace your windshield in the future.

Try Not To Drive Behind Gravel Hauling Trucks

Semi-trucks spend a large portion of their life on freeways and highways. And so do gravel haulers. Be careful driving too close to these rigs because they spew out little rocks and pebbles constantly that are the best at breaking windshields.

Another thing to consider is semi truck aerodynamics aren’t always the greatest at preventing debris from flowing up and around. Instead, debris tends to flow right into windshields.

Be Careful In Construction Sites & Warehouses

Some semi trucks tend to frequent construction sites and warehouses. These locations can have lurking dangers for windshields. Sometimes trucks can run into beams, bars and other things that stick out (it’s rare, but it does happen). Or even run into the occasional forklift tynes.

Paying for Semi Truck Windshield Replacement with Insurance
