PGW or Pittsburg Glass Works started in the year 2000. It was originally a part of Pittsburg Plate Glass (PPG) but became its own division (PGW) in 2007. It’s now owned by Vitro Glass Company.

PGW works with major automotive manufacturers from the beginning of the entire car design process to make sure their windshields meet or exceed expectations.

Alfa Auto Glass has been repairing and replacing car and RV windshields since 1988. We’ve always recommended PGW windshields for our customers (assuming PGW manufactures a windshield for their car make and model).

Facts about the PGW glass factory

The PGW float glass plant is located in Meadville, Pennsylvania where operations began in 1968. The plant is 630,000 square feet in area and produces 1 million square feet of glass every seven days. That’s enough glass to equip 20,000 cars a day.
