RV window frame types & locations
Lorem
An RV or motorhome can have several window frame locations. It’s helpful to identify which location needs servicing. This can help prevent service delays and ordering the wrong parts. Here’s a breakdown of some common window frame types:
- Entrance Door Window Frame
- Horizontal Sliding Window Frame
- Rear Window Frame
- Vertical Sliding Window Frame
We also want to be pretty specific about the location of where the window frame is located:
- Driver Side
- Entrance Door
- Rear Window
- Passenger Side
You can also use descriptors like “bathroom window”, “kitchen window”, or “behind the entrance door on the passenger side”. Also, when you supply your VIN, we can accurately determine the correct location of the window frame.
Common RV window frame problems
There are three common RV window frame issues we come across:
Rust
Many RV window frames are made out of steel. Over time these frames can rust quite a bit. In some cases, we can clean out the rust and get the frame functional again. In other cases, we may have to replace the frame completely.
Bent / Accident
If your side windows or rear window gets bent, we’ll have to replace the window frame. This can happen from collisions, backing into objects, or vandalism.
Burglary / Break-Ins
Unfortunately, some people will try to break into RVs either by breaking side windows or by trying to pry out the window. They will use a tool like a crowbar and try to either pop out the window or pry it loose. This rarely works and ends up damaging the side or rear window assembly.

We travel to your RV to perform RV window frame replacement
We will drive out to where your RV is located and perform the window frame replacement service on the spot. We don’t charge extra for travel time (drive time is free).
Things to keep in mind before we arrive
Replacing RV window frames is a slightly involved situation. We will be using power tools and ladders. With this said, please keep children and pets inside (or away) while we are working. We may ask you to move your RV if we don’t have enough space to do our work (if the window is too close to a wall for example).
Do we take insurance?
The short answer is: yes. Of course, you may have a deductible or certain insurance policy coverage limitations. In any case, insurance isn’t a blocker when it comes to getting the job done.
How long does it take to replace an RV window frame?
Excluding the time it takes to drive to your RV or motorhome, most RV window frames take approximately 2.5 hours to replace. You’re free to run errands or catch up on work while we do our work.
