This brand has an interesting backstory: they started out as an aircraft company in Tulsa, OK. The company was acquired by J. Paul Getty. After WW2, the company decided it would be a better move to focus on trailer production rather than competing in the aircraft business. Thus, the Spartan Trailer was born.
Marketed as the “All-Aluminum Trailercoach”, vintage Spartan Trailers have become increasingly popular with the mid-century modern outdoor crowd. And we love them too! Tips
Here are a few tips we’ve picked up along the way that applies to Spartan Trailer owners:
- Backing your Spartan out of a parking spot is tricky. It’s not uncommon to back into a protruding object – breaking one of your windows.
- If you buy a used Spartan, you may need to get window gaskets / seals replaced. Often, they have deteriorated and will cause leaks.
- If you go camping, don’t think your Spartan doubles as a food locker. Bears will try to pry their way into your trailer!
Paying For Repairs Using Your Insurance
We do take payments from insurance companies. However, it’s best that you reach out to your agent or insurance company first to find out if your policy will cover glass and window repairs. Keep in mind that you may have to pay a deductible.
